Bio
Marty Price attempts to bring something of his own mix, in terms of critical perspective, to his survey courses. He dabbles lightly in Carl Gustov Jung's ideas, just enough that he can discuss literature in terms of broadly recognized metaphor (akin to acknowledging archetypes). He identifies himself philosophically as a Romantic and a historicist, and attempts to tie works to their cultural period and the intellectual predispositions of their period.
On his own time, he writes poetry and short fiction -- not for academic or commercial ends, but for the pure pleasure of it. He also has a bit of a passion for ghost stories.
