The primary works will all be poetry, fudging slightly on the dates (or maybe just indulging in a prologue and and an epilogue) to include T'he Song of Hiawatha (as well as another work of 1855, the far less popular Leaves of Grass) and The Waste Land (1922). Included will be poems by Longfellow, Whitman, Dickinson, Crane, Wilcox, Dunbar, Piatt, Eastman, Masters, Pound, and Eliot. You may not recognize some of those names, and learning something about them should be part of the fun.
