This course will focus on the major playwrights of the last 130 years in order to provide students with an overview of the most important dramatic movements that have occurred during that time. We will read plays by Ibsen, Beckett, Albee, Churchill, Norman, and numerous others. We will also focus on developments in Realism, Theater of Ideas, and Absurdism, to name just a few of the movements that occurred during that time.
